Antony Gullick is our resident Cuban expert. He has had a long and varied career as a music educator and professional musician. Since graduating from the University of New South Wales Antony has worked with countless young musicians as music coordinator at Kirrawee High school and founder of the NSW Schools Jazz Orchestra. He has been awarded the National Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the Premiers Teaching Scholarship for his work in music education.
Antony has led school groups to South Africa, the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, China and Cuba. Highlights of these tours have included performances at the Montreaux, Monterey and North Sea Jazz Festivals, taking the first school group to post-apartheid South Africa and leading the first school bands into Cuba
With his extensive knowledge of Cuba and Cuban culture we are very pleased to have Antony as part of the World Projects South Pacific team.
His expertise has allowed us to be the first and only company to take school music groups into this fascinating country. |
